As part of ongoing kitchen and utility room renovation works at this property in Bexley, Kent, we upgraded the existing consumer units to a new modern FuseBox consumer unit.
The property previously had two older MEM consumer units with a mixture of protective devices. With alterations being made to the electrical installation as part of the renovation, this was a good opportunity to bring the consumer unit up to a modern standard and improve protection across the existing circuits.
We installed a new FuseBox consumer unit complete with:
- Individual Type A RCBO protection for each circuit
- Surge Protection Device (SPD)
- New main switch
- Clearly labelled circuits
- Full testing and certification on completion
Using individual RCBOs means that a fault on one circuit is less likely to affect other circuits in the property, while the surge protection helps protect electrical equipment from transient overvoltages.
The new consumer unit also provides a much neater installation with additional capacity for any future electrical work at the property.
This upgrade formed part of the wider kitchen and utility room electrical works in Bexley, with the installation tested on completion to ensure everything was safe and operating correctly.
