This is the importance of having an EICR carried out at the change of tenant as well as every 5 years. This is a property I tested 15 months ago and it was satisfactory. The landlord got in touch again to say that the tenant had moved out and they would like it re-tested. It turned out to be a good decision as we found 2 damaged sockets left by the previous tenant. The new tenants had a young child that could have easily put their finger into the live sockets, fortunately the landlord got us in to retest and the potential problem was avoided.
